Infinite calculation time

I’ve made a small graph with a few looping mergers and splitters, which works fine, and the calculation is completed after like a minute or two, however, when I then try to take the outputs from one of the loops and put it into an assembler along with a different input, the calculation just goes on forever.

This is a known issue. There is already a ticket for this here: https://satisfactorymodeler.featurebase.app/p/make-the-calculations-faster

Documentation about the long calculation times can be found here: https://satisfactorymodeler.github.io/docs/long_calculations/long_calculations.html

In the working example there is only one point of connection, allowing an optimization that can split them into two sections. Once you connect the two sections with a second connection it can create a feedback loop that prevents the optimization from being able to be used. It can take a worse case scenario of 2^N time to solve. In the working case N is 23. In your non-working case N is 49. Which means the non-working case may take about 67 million times longer to solve than the working case which is why it seems to hang forever.

I have been working on improving this for many years now, but it is a very difficult problem. I have a promising implementation I am currently working on.
