Power calculation is wrong

When making my power setup I made a excel spreadsheet to understand it easier and the “Average Net Power” seems right but the “Min Made - Max Used” is wrong. It should be around 2,154,337.525 but shows 2,569,402.693. This probably has to do with boosted power, but still the (“Average Net Power” - “Max Used”) is still way below what is shown in the screen shot. If I’m wrong with my interpretation I would like to know what is causing this.

Thanks for looking into this!

Can you explain the math you are doing to arrive at your expected number? Looking at those displayed value I am not immediately seeing anything wrong. If you can reproduce the error with a very small design that can be manually computed and verified that could be helpful.

If you are getting these numbers from a spreadsheet, calculating max used can be pretty tricky. You have to assume you hit a moment where every machine is operating at full capacity. Since your machines are often calculated to values that are not whole numbers and you don’t underclock, the max used has to round the machine up to figure out max power. For example if you have 3.1 constructors without underclocking, that means you have to build 4 and you may hit a moment where all 4 are running, which is the max used for that machine. This is why the max used is significantly higher than the average used.

My best guess on the math you are doing is taking the average net power and subtracting the average used power instead of taking the min power made and subtracting the max power used while also perhaps not calculating idle machine power. I am just guessing on this as max used and idle machine power would both be complex to model in a spreadsheet.
